We work with so many fantastic companies from all over the world, we thought it might be time to start to share a few of their stories! We've realized that we learn so much about each of our vendors and that's something that really is important to us! It's always so wonderful to know who they are and all of the amazing things that go into making their products, but we're bad at communicating all of those wonderful things about each of them to you (there is only so much space in each of our collection descriptions!), and we're going to try to be better about that! One of our newest lines that we've recently started to include in some of our Petit Post Collections is Winter Water Factory and to say that we absolutely adore everything they create would be quite the understatement!

Winter Water Factory is a Brooklyn-based design and manufacturing company specializing in screen printed textiles and organic kids' clothing. Fresh, bold, and beautiful textile prints are the signature of Winter Water Factory and absolutely make our hearts pitter patter with delight! Printed on soft organic cotton and fashioned into classic designs. Their focus on creating high-quality products for a healthy planet, is music to our ears. Every item is crafted from 100% organic cotton and is made in the USA—from the fabric to the final stitch.

MADE IN USA.

At Winter Water Factory, they do everything they can to manufacture their items within their community, creating jobs for the people around them. 'We've consolidated all of our cut-and-sew operations to a factory a few blocks from our home in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. Producing our products within the United States keeps jobs and craftsmanship alive and helps to enforce ethical manufacturing.' Reducing the ecological footprint of the entire consumer process is very important to them as well, 'Producing our products locally helps us reduce our shipping, packaging and waste output.'

ORGANIC.

Winter Water Factory is built on core values of promoting sustainability and manufacturing ethics, beginning with their raw materials. Organic cotton, advocates safe and sustainable farming practices. To be labeled as "organic," cotton must meet strict federal regulations. According to the Organic Trade Association, "Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture." Right now, organic cotton represents less than 0.1 percent of all the cotton produced worldwide. The fine folks at Winter Water Factory are proud to support this industry and our planet with our manufacturing choices and we are so proud to support them!

WINTER WATER.

Oh, and if you have ever wondered about their funny name...the original Winter Water Factory, or rather “Winterwasserfabric," was founded in the early 1980s in Eschweiler, Germany, where Stefanie, Winter Water Factory's co-founder, and her sister bottled melted snow and sold it to their parents as “winter water." That same tradition of creating fine products from all-natural resources continues for them today in Brooklyn.

Keep an eye out for some fantastic new Petit Post collections making their debut, featuring some lovely clothing from Winter Water Factory!
