Cozy comfort

Can we just talk about how much we love bamboo!? I recently did an abbreviated instagram post on my passion for bamboo fabric and I thought it was worthy of a little more detail!

I personally love bamboo. It's a cozy, soft and an all around magical fabric. My sheets are bamboo, I search for bamboo clothing as often as possible for myself and when buying for Petit Post, I purposefully search for beautiful bamboo pieces that can be cute and incredibly functional parts of our collections.

Bamboo is extremely breathable, the cross-section of the bamboo fiber is covered with micro-gaps giving the fabric better moisture absorption and ventilation. As a result, it is able to keep the wearer cooler in the heat and noticeably warmer in the cold and nothing is more ideal for babies than a garment or blanket that aids in temperature regulation. (And lets be honest, I appreciate my sheets for the same reason!)  Bamboo fabric is also naturally antimicrobial and anti-fungal, a characteristic that makes it resistant to odor and bacteria, even after many washings making the garments made from bamboo healthier and more hygienic.

Unlike other luxury fabrics, bamboo is machine washable in cool water and it can even be tumble dried. There's no need for dry cleaning, hand washing, or fabric softeners and who doesn’t love that!?

But even after all of those fun facts, the most enticing aspect of bamboo fabric is that it is one of the most eco-friendly fabrics on the planet which in and of itself is worth noting (and doing a little happy dance for)!
